Memo to Self:

Next time at MidOhio, bring oars and inflatable pontoons.

I would like to thank the MidOhio PCA Region for the club race this last weekend, especially for the way they managed the weather just right!
In my class (E) I've been languishing in the back of the pack all Saturday, with a pack of those pesky 944 turbos ahead of me. Those turbos love the slightly cool weather.
Before the Deluge
Gregg Wilson (10) and Cris Brady (88)
However the tables were turned Sunday morning with torrential downpours leaving the track nicely wet. The wet qualifying conditions enabled me to move up to 5th in class, all the way from the peanut seats in 17th.
Looking back thru the Keyhole. This shot NOT taken this weekend.

The race was wet, with light rain that got heavier as the race went on. I had a decent, not great start. Joe Rothman, driving on the edge the whole time, got by me in the middle of the race in his S2 Firehawk.
One race group got lucky, just damp.
I was running shaved Kumhos and as the conditions deteriorated, my laps times started dropping. I was sliding all over the place and toward the end, I had to brake in order to get my car to just turn in for the keyhole chicane. Michael Keck was reeling me in and caught up with me in the carousel on the last lap, but I was able to hold him off to keep 6th. Whew!

The rain quit long enough to pack up after the race.
