My garage has been host to the 944 crash rebuild, the motor rebuild and just general racecar maintanence activities. Over the past several years I spent a fair amount of time in there. It was reorganized a fair amount last winter so I could rebuild the motor, but after several full spills of Mobil One and other hard use, it was in need of some love.

The garage holds two cars, a motorcycle, a snow blower, numerous bikes, large air compressor, lots of tires & wheels, lawnmower, a large workbench, shelves for maggies plant supplies, Costco bulk storage and still has room for working on cars.
After the winter reorg, it's actually a decent place to work. I've insulated the ceiling a couple of years ago and with a huge kerosene heater, it stays toasty in the winter. High Output 8 foot tubes keep it bright. But it can always be improved.
Ok, job #1 is to remove all the crap. Luckily I have a enclosed trailer. Especially since it rained a lot
over the weekend.
And what happened to the racecar that lived in the trailer?
It was parked in the backyard. Where it was immediately claimed by the resident siberian as a much cooler hangout
spot than the parts car in the back. Parking cones having no effect at all. Sibes just have no respect for the law.
Next up was 4+ hours of scrubbing the floor with degreasers, etchers, etc with lots of water. I finished up
about 12:30 am.
By noon the next day it was dry, and I was ready to start. Here's the first quadrant of epoxy coating going down after the trimming was done. Quite a contrast from the current floor.
After the main coat had dried, I put a clear coat epoxy over it with anti-skid material embedded in it. Goes
on white, but dries clear.
With a great looking new floor, now the walls look pretty crappy. So back to Lowes for wall paint this time. Add another day to the job ...
The next day it's dry and it's time to be moving back in. The trailer needs to be empty so it can be loaded in 3 days. Next weekend
is a race weekend.
Looking pretty sweet!
A close up of the floor.
Still have several hours of work in the future. The ceiling now looks bad compared to the rest, and I might
as well paint the back of the garage door. And the trailer still needs unloading, and I need to put up
a coat rack for the bike leathers, and .... well you get the picture. but all in all, I'm pretty happy.
Time to start working on that 1970 BMW....
