I think that much the most enjoyable of all races is a steamboat race. Two red--hot steamboats raging along, neck-and-neck, straining every nerve--that is to say, every rivet in the boilers--quaking and shaking and groaning from stem to stern, spouting white steam from the pipes, pouring black smoke from the chimneys, raining down sparks, parting the river into long breaks of hissing foam--this is sport that makes a body's very liver curl with enjoyment. - Mark Twain, Life on the Mississippi
Well here it is 100 years later and nothing much has changed. Put a motor on a bar stool and the next day, somebody will show up with another one and it's time to go racing.

I've been lucky to enjoyed several fun vehicles, not as much as some of my car-nut friends, but plenty enough. Here you'll find pictures, observations, rants or useless trivia on vehicles currently owned or in the past.

Garage update
Lots of work on the racecar, all of it done in the Alpine garage. Time for a little sprucing up of my workspace.
Time to experience "momentum" racing. It's time for a new race car. It's slower, fatter and heavier than my 911. What's not to like? 1989 Porsche 944
Replacing the F3, comes a brand new 2003 CBR 600 RR. In "Hello Officer" Yellow, no less. Time to head for the track with that "MotoGP derived" technology ...
Corner Carving here we come!
1998 Honda CBR 600 Sportbike joins the vehicle corral. And now a year later (May 04), leaves for a new owner.

And it matches the trailer color also ...
While waiting for the next monsoon, I mean Club Race, I upgraded the tow vehicle. Now I can tow at 80 mph again.
Last known picture of the trailer being clean and waxed.
Gimme Shelter

It's been a wet year at the track and I'm tired of it. New Toy here
It's gone now, but not forgotten. My steel open trailer served my track addiction well for several years.

Turbo Flares oh my!
New project in the house: 1970 Euro BMW 2002. As if I don't break the racecar enough, I need more things to work on.
